POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Sourcing Specialist positions are responsible for reducing product cost through expansion of the Division's offshore purchasing efforts. These positions will focus on locating suitable high-quality, low-cost Chinese sources for key electronic commodities and then working with the engineering, purchasing, and quality resources located in the United States and Mexico to facilitate supplier qualification and implementation. Specific responsibilities include:
-Become completely familiar with Rain Bird's quality standards and expectations for suppliers and ensure these standards become integral to Far East sourcing activities.
-Locate suitable sources that provide significant potential for reducing cost without adversely affecting quality or service levels.
-Establish and develop management-level relationships with potential sources.
-Coordinating with Controls personnel in North America, facilitate all aspects of supplier approval such as pricing negotiation and quoting, qualification testing, quality audits, pilot runs, logistics arrangements, etc.
-Serve as an in-region Controls representative able to assist with communications between our suppliers in China and the Controls Division in North America; visit China sources as needed to provide on-site monitoring and ensure compliance with Rain Bird standards.
-Coordinate with Rain Bird Asia management and administration to ensure compliance with Rain Bird Asia policies and practices. |
